A short pastry cake enriched with butter, sultana raisin and pine nuts, it’s the most ancient Genoese dessert, it was created at the age of Admiral Doria. He announced a competition among the pastry chefs of the Republic of Genoa to create a rich and fragrant dessert that would have been stored for long time on the ships’ pantries crossing the oceans.
Wheat flour; sultana raisins (26%); butter; sugar; candied citruses peels (7%) (orange and citrus peels, glucose-fructose syrup, sugar, acidity corrector: citric acid); milk; pine-nuts (1,6%); egg yolk; inverted sugar syrup; raising agents (disodium diphosphate, sodium hydrogen carbonate); flavourings; salt.
